yardsale fundraiser

Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas is having our first yardsale to benefit our organization.  The items that you donate or buy will raise funds to repair homes for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners.  Come join the party at 913 Belleview   Dallas, Texas  75215   on August 14th, 2010   from 8:00a.m. to 2:00p.m! national rebuilding day

Each April, Rebuilding Together affiliates across the nation celebrate the beginning of Rebuilding Together with a rebuild day.  Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas is organizing its largest rebuild day thus far, at 27 homes to repair!  We are excited to make such an impact on our community with the help of our sponsors, donors, contractors, and volunteers.

nba cares

The NBA and Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas partnered to save five homes and rebuild lives on the 2600 block of Macon Street.  This area was selected due to the Bexar Street Redevelopment Initiative and the city's focus on this long-neglected South Dallas neighborhood.  Many of these homes are multi-generational and the families on this street have been friends for decades.  One of the residents is an elderly woman that was raised in her home.  The house has foundation and roof damage, which has led to many necessary repairs around the entire home including repairing the foundation, subfloor and flooring, drywall, roof and plumbing, installing new appliances, and weatherizing in order to save electricity costs.

The project was completed on February 12th, 2010 during the NBA Cares Day of Service.
