safe at home
The Safe at Home program is specifically aimed towards the disabled and elderly populations of the Dallas area. Rebuilding Together has been able to increase the quality of life for seniors through accessbility and repairs, giving mobility and allowing them to age in their own homes. The scope of Safe at Home ranges from ramps and bathroom modifications to major renovations of unsafe structural conditions.

national rebuilding day
Held on the last Saturday in April, National Rebuilding Day is the annual signature event of Rebuilding Together during which affiliates nationwide carry out projects to celebrate the organization’s mission and to bring attention to the plight of America’s low-income homeowners and the communities in which they live. It is a culmination of a year of planning, evaluating, training, organizing and mobilizing thousands of community volunteers.
reo program
Through the REO program Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas rehabilitates foreclosed properties and works with partners and other nonprofit agencies to sell the home to a buyer that is between 80-120% of the area median income (AMI). As part of the initiative, buyers are also required to complete a Homebuyer Education class and show a certificate of completion before closing. The buyers also must live in the home; homes cannot be sold to an investor.
Once the home is sold, the proceeds from the sale are returned to the Rebuilding Together affiliate’s operating fund, allowing the organizations to continue to make critical home repairs for homeowners in need.
