To Current Applicants:

We understand that you are eager to know the status of your application, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by our delayed response. As a small nonprofit, we are currently facing a significant influx of calls, messages, and emails, which has exceeded our capacity to respond promptly. While we are unable to respond to every inquiry, we kindly request your understanding and patience as we work diligently to assess each application and help as many of our neighbors as we can.

In the meantime, if you are currently receiving repairs on your home, please reach out to the contact provided to you, and we will do our best to assist you. We deeply value your support and remain committed to fulfilling our mission.

Once again, thank you for your understanding, and we truly appreciate your support for our organization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our work on each home varies from depending on our funding source and available volunteers and or/contractors, but often includes: yard work, exterior painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs, heating and cooling unit work, roofing, windows, door repairs, and safety modifications for people with disabilities.

  • We cannot immediately help everyone with an eligible application. We are a non-profit and must wait until we have funding in place to complete home repair projects. There is no official waiting list, only eligible applications waiting for assistance.

  • No, not at this time.

  • The time needed for every project is based on what needs to be done to the home. On average it takes several months to complete the application, funding, and repairs of each home RTNTX completes.

  • All repairs are at no cost to the homeowner if they are eligible for our programs. Funding to cover the cost of materials comes from local businesses, government grants, individuals, and foundations.

Homeowners and family members are asked to welcome volunteers into their homes and, if possible, work alongside the volunteers in the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor.

  • RTNTX has a rigorous screening and project planning process that enables us to make sound investments in our clients’ homes. We consider our clients’ needs, funding availability, material/supplies availability, and labor availability to complete projects.
